There are two methods employed by poker rooms to calculate a player’s portion of the rake – dealt and contributed.
Dealt Rakeback Method
This method takes the total rake of the pot, and then divides the total by the number of players who have been dealt into the hand. For example, if the total rake of the pot is $2.00 and 10 players are dealt in, each player will earn $0.20 for their hand.
Contributed Rakeback Method
This method divides the pot rake by all the players that have contributed to the pot. For example, if the pot rake is $2.00, 10 players are dealt in and 5 players contribute, each contributing player will earn $0.40 for their hand.
There is also a derivative of the contributed method, called ‘Weighted Contributed’. This is where the MGR that you generate is calculated from how much you have contributed to the pot. The percentage you contribute to the pot determines the percentage of rake you are allocated.
The rakeback method employed by the poker rooms we offer deals with can be found on our rakeback deals page.
The rake structure for each poker room is driven by the network that the poker room is a member of. All poker rooms (skins) on the network will employ the same rake structure. Independent poker rooms use their own software and set their own rake structures. Full details of rake structures can be found on the information page for the poker room or network.
